...Handmade Dolls...

Cyndy's handmade dolls are realistic baby dolls and maybe even the most realistic baby dolls. Her newborn dolls are newborn baby dolls and again are realistic newborn baby dolls.  Her native American baby dolls are some of the most beautiful sculptured dolls you will ever find.

Cyndy's business "Echoes of the Past and First Stop Java" is located directly across from the historic Weippe Prairie, where for untold generations has been a favorite place to gather camas roots.  Hand sculpted dolls are made from sculpey polymer modeling clay.  Then baked at low temperatures.  They are all one-of-a-kind.  I may be doing limited edition sculptures made from man-made stone at a later date.

Echoes of the Past and First Stop Java is owned and operated by Cyndy Koerling, a life-time resident of the region.  In 1986 Cyndy started making her hand crafted One-of-a-Kind Indian dolls and has had a home business ever since. She has sold her dolls to people as far away as Australia and to people as famous as Demi Moore.  A few years ago Cyndy decided to expand the business and started construction.  Now it is Cyndy’s Echoes of the Past and First Stop Java including a gallery, estimated to be completed January 2006, which will be filled with pieces of the past and hand-crafted items. Also included in the business is a drive thru espresso hut (First Stop Java) which is already a prospering piece of the business, and a tourist information center.

Although there are various different items for sale, the business has and always will center around Cyndy’s one-of-a–kind, hand sculpted dolls.  These dolls, after all, started Echoes of the Past and First Stop Java.  Indian babies come in four different sizes in their own hand beaded cradleboard.  Cyndy has recently started making specialty sculptures like the Lewis and Clark set and an impressive Chief Joseph on his Appaloosa.  Each one is unique because they do not come from a mold.  They are lovingly sculpted and put together by Cyndy herself.  She also makes portrait dolls but these have to be special ordered.  Dream catchers and medicine bags are also in the gallery.  All of these things are hand crafted with love and care.
